Timeless Factual Chronicles is a repository established by the author for retelling true stories that warms the heart and touches the spirit. It is a place which facilitates deep introspection on the realities of life.
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Ramersh Kumar is an accomplished non-fiction writer with a penchant for retelling stories on major past events that left an indelible mark in history. Having spent most of his formative years as a sports enthusiast, a student of Vedanta, and a researcher on the final stages of India’s colonial history, he has developed from a career software engineer into a boxing analyst and historian, an Indian historian, and a longstanding scholar of the system of Vedanta. Thus, he presents three books depicting the most remarkable journeys of souls that are truly unforgettable.
Growing up, Ramersh has followed several sports but has devoted most of his recreational time studying and researching the noble art of boxing through a huge collection of boxing magazines and boxing videos.
Over the years, he had the opportunity of attending some world championship fights, and have also met some world champion and former world champion boxers such as, Michael Dokes, Tim Witherspoon, Mike Weaver, Sugar Ray Leonard and James 'Quick' Tillis.
He met the famous boxing promoter Don King who co-promoted the Thrilla in Manila.
And had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Eddie Futch, manager and trainer of Smokin’ Joe Frazier, in an hour-long discussion. He met Janks Morton in Las Vegas, manager and trainer of the former world champion, Greg Page. In 2013, he was invited by the family of Joe Frazier to attend the former champion’s posthumous induction into the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, on 19th December 2013.
In November 2011, when Joe Frazier passed on, the writer decided to produce a book depicting Frazier’s noble qualities and his outstanding exploits in the ring. This culminated in the e-book, “Smokin’ Joe Frazier in the Thrilla in Manila – Relived” offered here.
I have written in the preamble of my book:
“The author of this book pledges that upon reading this chronicle on the Thrilla in Manila, readers and sports fans will be so profoundly inspired by it; they will never think, feel, talk, walk or work, the same again!”
Ramersh is an advocate of transcendental meditation and spiritual enlightenment, who started practicing meditation at the age of fifteen. His impression of the Bhagavad-Gita, is, that it is the most beneficial book in print, for it is more than merely a scripture, as it is a lucid and concise textbook on life and beyond, and is the clear and unmistakable voice of the Supreme Creator - the pre-eminent bestower of truth. He sees spiritual intelligence as the highest form of intelligence in the world.
Ramersh’s sojourn through the passages of time has afforded him a unique opportunity to tread a truly awakening and heartrending path, which demonstrates the immense of power of the human spirit of a people under severe oppression. The story of India’s freedom struggle was a glorious chapter in human history. It is a saga filled with death, trauma, turmoil, hardship, drama and victory, unequalled. This is expressed in a forthcoming e-book due for release in the near future.
Over years of close observation, Ramersh has understood the pivotal role that sport and music play in inducing societal peace and harmony, and how this fosters deep and lasting person-to-person bonding and social cohesion. Sport and music does much to inspire us to greater heights in life. And it is universally accepted that on life's journey, music and sport are our best companions and comforters.
Ramersh’s ideology is rooted in awakening the hearts and minds of people out of the darkness of ignorance and arrogance, into the light of knowledge and understanding. He takes them on soul-searching journeys that inspires them to look beyond their immediate sphere of existence and survey the vastness that lies beyond.
